Stake casino originally built its name and reputation as the best place for crypto gambling online. It did this with a carefully cultivated strategy of user-friendly banking, and wide range of digital currencies accepted, as well as a rich array of crypto original games like Crash and Mines.
Over the last few years, it's also been deeply expanding its exclusive game category, with slots in particular created uniquely for its site.
Wallaby Wilds is one such title, and it's a nice little nod to the birthplace (Australia) of Stake casino, and its sister companies including the developer Twist Gaming, the creator of this specific slot machine and its umbrella company Carrot Gaming.
But what's so interesting about it and why is it worth a spin? Well for starters because anything Stake creates, from what we've found, is always worth trying, as it's so well-known for quality and innovation.
But also because, as our expert slots reviewers have found, Wallaby Wilds while super simple by appearances, actually has quite a bit of bang for the buck - i.e. great entertainment factor and some very good prizes up its virtual sleeve.
Game highlights:
- Simple user interface
- Cute theme
- Wild symbols with potentially extra powers
- Free spins bonus rounds (which can be retriggered)
- Double Boost, Free Spins, Super Free Spins, and Wallaby Spin bonus buy options
- Global Multiplier
- 5,000X max win
- 97% RTP
- Available exclusively at Stake casino*
* The developer of Wallaby Wilds, Twist Gaming, is a subsidiary of Carrot Gaming, which in turn is a subsidiary of Easygo, Stake casino's parent company.
Wallaby Wilds Slot Basics and Rules
When it comes to the basics, as in the actual board layout, Wallaby Wilds is about as simple as they come. Five reels, three rows, 20 paylines. It seems so standard you might almost confuse it as boring; except it's not, as you'll discover for yourself further down in the bonus features section of our review.
In any event, even simplicity deserves explanation for those less familiar with the video slots format. So here we go.
To begin, click on the game's thumbnail. Make sure it's set to 'Real Play' so you can make actual bets. If you haven't yet funded your Stake account, before starting the game would be a good time, even with a minimum deposit like $20 or the equivalent value in a crypto like Bitcoin.
To set your bet amount, click on the plus or minus signs in the bottom right corner of the screen. You can wager as little as $0.10 a spin, or as much as $1,000, which of course is a massive range accommodating of all players. Unfortunately there's no max bet button to jump right up, so you'll need to keep pressing a few times if you're feeling in the high roller mood.
If you'd like, you can also select the auto play option - the smaller circular arrow button with the letter A. You can then keep spinning at the same rate for 10 times in a row or up to an infinite number of times, whatever that means. We guess you'd end the latter by adding a loss limit or single win limit to your instructions when activating the feature to keep it under control.
Wins are calculated from left to right, and only the highest win per line (if there's more than one win) pays out. The max prize is 5,000X your bet, so that could be quite significant winnings.
Play Wallaby Wilds Slots for Free Online
While we just advised you to move the slider when opening Wallaby Wilds from Fun Play to Real Play mode, that's for real money gambling purposes.
If you want to play for free, obviously Fun Play is going to be the way to go; and actually advisable if you just want to check the game out for a few rounds to get a feel.
Although there's no strategy to test, free play is a great tool for practice, especially in terms of understanding betting limits of the game, and how you're going to want to approach the free spins rounds and the potential bonus buy-ins.
Wallaby Wilds Video Slots Paytable
Like all online slots, Wallaby Wilds has a paytable associated with each of the various symbols that comprise the game. All of the symbols in the game, we'll just point out, pay prize cash for combinations of 3, 4, and 5 matching symbols, with the latter obviously paying at the highest rate.
Have a look at this chart for a good indication of how each symbol pays, in different constellations.
Symbol | Minimum profit | Maximum profit |
---|---|---|
X2 | X25 | |
X1,4 | X15 | |
X1,4 | X15 | |
X1,2 | X10 | |
X1,2 | X10 | |
X0,6 | X5 | |
X0,4 | X2,4 | |
X0,2 | X1,4 |
Another thing to note, as mentioned previously, is that this 20 payline game rewards the traditional way, from left to right, starting from the left-most reel. Also, while it may technically be possible to have more than one win per line, perhaps by taking the wild into account, only the highest win will be awarded per round.
Wallaby Wilds Bonus Rounds and Special Features
Despite the simplicity of the game's overall interface, it actually has a fair bit of extras wrapped in, particularly on the free spins and bonus fronts. The special features you'll find here are as follows.
Wild symbols
As expected, it substitutes for all other symbols with the exception of the scatter symbol, to help form winning combinations.
There is also something called sticky wilds here which are active during the Free Spins, Super Free Spins, and Super Spins rounds. That means if a wild lands during any of those rounds, it remains in place for the duration. If you should be so lucky as to land a board full of wilds, i.e. 15 in total, you'll also automatically receive the maximum 5,000 times your bet win.
Free spins
The initial Free Spins bonus round is triggered by landing scatter symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5. When you do, you'll be awarded with three free spins.
Free spins retrigger
This essentially means that you'll start from the beginning, in a good way, with as many free spins as you were first awarded.
Global Multipliers
The Global Multiplier is only active during the Super Free Spins bonus round. It starts there as a 1X multiplier and is then increased by 1X each time another wild symbol lands on the reels. Once the feature ends, it is reset, i.e. it isn't retriggered moving forward.
Bonus buy options
There are four bonus buy options in this game, each coming in at a different price point, and each with its own benefits.
- Double Boost: At a cost of 1.25X your underlying bet (i.e. current bet) you can buy into the Double Boost mode which doubles your chances of triggering the Free Spins bonus round.
- Wallaby Spin: Last, but not least, there's the option to buy into the Wallaby Spin mode. For the price of 25X your current bet, you'll get one free spin, with an additional free spin for every new wild on the reels.
- Free Spins. For a much heftier fee of 100X your bet, you can directly acquire three free spins, and all that that entails, including resetting of the free spin counter each time you land a wild symbol on the reels.
- Super Free Spins. Double that fee to 200X your underlying bet and you get the Super Free Spins. Here you also initially get three free spins with the free spin counter reset each time you land a wild symbol, plus the Global Multiplier, which increases by 1X with each additional wild.
All of these modes, by the way, still maintain the main game's theoretical RTP of 97%, so while potentially highly rewarding, you won't be changing that.
Which streamers play Wallaby Wilds?
Streamers who partner with Stake will often play the casino's original crypto games as well as its line of exclusive slots. This is part of the promotion factor we'd imagine that's reciprocally built in.
As such, it should come as no surprise that you can find streamers playing Wallaby Wilds including an up and coming name in the realm, BigFoltz. In general, he seems to be particularly enthusiastic about Carrot Gaming's Twist Gaming line of slots, having been seen expressing extreme love of Samurai Dogs as well.
And of course, the slots streaming, Stake star, Kick platform celeb, ClassyBeef is a fan of Wallaby Wilds, who really put the bonus buy options here to the test in one legendary session.
Play Wallaby Wilds on Mobile
To us, this is the ultimate in convenience and entertainment wrapped into one. And since Stake is a browser-based casino, that means all of its games are too, so no download is required either of the game itself or of a special casino app. This also means you can use the same account across devices, so you can switch back and forth between desktop and mobile play whenever you like.
Also, since mobile design is inherent to the games, we're sure you'll appreciate the ease of use and nuances of the graphics that remain true to form (i.e. excellent), regardless of your screen size.
Wallaby Wilds FAQs
Although this is a rather simple game, we appreciate that many of our casino review readers like seeing an FAQ section dedicated to the slot's specifics. Hence we bring you these elaborations, and welcome any feedback should you like to learn more.
- Where can I play Wallaby Wilds slots?
- Can I play Wallaby Wilds from an American IP address?
- Can I gamble with crypto on Wallaby Wilds slots?
- Are the Wallaby Wilds bonus buys recommended?
- Is the Wallaby Wilds game really as simple as it looks?
- If I find the Wallaby Wilds soundtrack annoying, can I turn it off?
- Do you think auto play is a good option?
1.) Where can I play Wallaby Wilds slots?
Wallaby Wilds is only available for real money play at Stake casino. That is, it is 100% a Stake exclusive, actually developed by Twist Gaming and Carrot Gaming, which is essentially a partner provider, all of whose games are currently found only at Stake.
Of course, if you want to play Wallaby Wilds for free, you can also do that at Stake. But once you're ready to gamble - as in make real money bets for the true thrills of the genre - you'll need to switch to real play, something we personally think is recommended, especially since you can play with such a minor risk at just $0.10 a spin.
Back to FAQ2.) Can I play Wallaby Wilds from an American IP address?
No. You cannot play Wallaby Wilds from a US IP address; nor can you access Stake casino from the United States. It's explicitly prohibited.
You can, however, try a well-known workaround, which is setting your IP address to a country or territory where it is 100% legal and acceptable to game at Stake using a VPN. You can figure out which country by looking at the prohibited jurisdictions list in the site's Terms & Conditions, and then choosing one you know that's not on there, for example Gibraltar, Cyprus, or Bulgaria. Or you can use a process of trial and error, since setting and resetting your VPN IP doesn't cost anything.
Back to FAQ3.) Can I gamble with crypto on Wallaby Wilds slots?
If you're looking for a crypto slot machine, then Wallaby Wilds is going to be a good bet. As a Stake exclusive, it needless to say can be bet upon in any number of cryptos that the site accepts ranging from Bitcoin and Ethereum to niche coins like SHIB, SAND, UNI, or MATIC.
Not only can you fund your account and easily make crypto withdrawals, but Stake also has super flexible limits in terms of minimum and maximum amounts, making it a great place to enjoy crypto gambling for players of all budgets, hassle free.
Back to FAQ4.) Are the Wallaby Wilds bonus buys recommended?
It's hard to say if bonus buy options in general are recommended as they're obviously not cheap. In this game, for example, while there are four of them on offer at different price points, only the Double Boost at 1.25X your current bet is really affordable. But it doesn't give you all that much; at least not a guarantee. On the flip side, the top tier bonus buy here for Super Free Spins is obviously quite costly at a whopping 200X (!) your bet, so you've got to REALLY want that free spins bonus round to splurge for it.
Overall, we'd say then not necessarily recommended, though if you have the budget you can certainly try. You're gambling after all, and this essentially is another dimension.
Back to FAQ5.) Is the Wallaby Wilds game really as simple as it looks?
Bells and whistles and fancy interfaces are a big part of online video slots, and often a great way for games to differentiate themselves and stand out from the crowd.
Wallaby Wilds, however, actually has a pretty simple interface, appearing rather unassuming and maybe even old-fashioned. That being said, for starters, old school definitely has its appeal, which is why the three reel fruit machines motif always remains in style. In addition, behind the simple façade there's actually more than meets the eye, with the heart of this game coming through in the bonus features, and various free spin rounds.
So overall we'd say, yes it's pretty simple in a good way, but has enough extras to keep it appealing for all sorts of players.
Back to FAQ6.) If I find the Wallaby Wilds soundtrack annoying, can I turn it off?
Sometimes a slot's soundtrack helps create an ambience, while other times it can be frankly quite annoying. Or simply inappropriate if you're playing at work (did we suggest you do that?!).
In any event, if you want to adjust the volume, you can simply turn to the game's setting to either turn the music down, or turn audio off entirely, if that's what you prefer. It's really up to you, your mood, and likely where you're sitting.
Back to FAQ7.) Do you think auto play is a good option?
Again, despite our being professional slots reviewers, we often have personal opinions that might not translate for everyone. By that we mean that auto play exists for a reason; and that's because many players apparently appreciate it. Most people on our team frankly like the thrill of clicking to spin, and watching the action unfold. And maybe resetting our bets in between, either increasing or decreasing wagers in light of the outcome. That's part of the fun.
But some people perhaps are only looking for a win and don't need to watch. Or they happen to have a huge bankroll and it's irrelevant to them how any given round turns out. So if either of these are the case, why not? It's your money and your personal style, so go for it if you want; though we do suggest at least always setting the Loss Limit to maintain some control, as this game can otherwise auto spin indefinitely.
Back to FAQOur Expert Opinion on Wallaby Wilds Slots
As a whole, we really enjoy a few rounds on Wallaby Wilds slots every now and then. It's not necessarily one of our top 10 slots, or as thrilling as say the Massive Studios line of slots with their huge potential wins, but it's definitely solid.
By that we mean it has a nice clear interface with easy-to-use commands, good bonus features, a strong 5,000X top prize, and an attractive Down Under motif that many players appreciate - including, most likely, you.
