Yet all was not lost. Despite becoming involved in crime - including a gun possession charge that led to a 30-month stint in a federal prison - AnneulAA had great ambition and apparently a strong work ethic that has led him to become a leading force in the popular Latin trap genre.
In fact, in an amazing feat, on the very day he was released from prison on July 17, 2018, he released his debut album Real Hasta la Muerte, which achieved both commercial and critical success. After that, it's been one success after another really.
This he's done alone as a solo act as well as through various hot collaborations with artists including Nicki Minaj, 6ix9ine, Ozuna, Daddy Yankee, Karol G, and Shakira.

The most notable of course is his prison sentence, having done time - 30 months no less - for illegal possession of firearms.
