Pump, Crash, Slide, and now it's time to Flip!

While about as old as time (or the concept of coins), the Stake original Flip brings added excitement and astronomical winnings to the traditional Heads or Tails game.

The big difference here between the classic game and this crypto original is that now you can claim your prize after each win, or try and climb to higher multipliers with consecutive wins, and if extraordinarily lucky reach the top prize of a 1,027,604.48X multiplier that's on the table.

Other than that, it's as you'd imagine. A quick, fun game of pure luck, and a great break from slots play for those who love simple, but potentially highly rewarding online casino games.

Game highlights:

  • A simple gamble on either Heads or Tails
  • Cash out after a win, or keep trying for higher multipliers and bigger cash prizes
  • Quick rounds
  • Free play
  • Flexible betting limits in real money mode
  • Top prize of 1,027,604.48X your bet
  • High RTP of 98%
  • Available exclusively at Stake

Flip Stake Game Basics and Rules

Like all Stake originals, the beauty of Flip is its extreme simplicity in terms of rules, minimalistic interface, and high potential for wins.

In this case all you need to do is get your call right - whether it's heads or tails you picked. But there's a bit more, so let's walk you through.

flip-stake-original-crypto-game©Stake | The left side of the board is where you'll find the betting fields, and the right side is where the actual coin flip and multipliers take place.MoreLess

To begin, looking to the commands side of the board, you'll see a field for your 'Bet Amount', then three choices for betting: 'Heads', 'Tails', or for those who can't decide, 'Pick Random Side'. Since this is a game of pure luck, with essentially a 50:50 chance of heads or tails landing, there's not really all that much to consider in this choice, so you can just go with your gut, or click randomly.

Once you've done that, click on the bright green 'Bet' button, and the round will play out in about 2 seconds per round. It's that quick.

On the actual gameboard heads is represented by an orange circle on the coin surface, while tails is a blue diamond.

If you lose, your bet is collected and the slate is cleared. If you wing, however, things start getting interesting. That's because you'll now need to decide if you want to click the 'Cashout' button and collect your winnings, paid out according to that round's multiplier. Or if you feel like gambling, try for another win.

If you do and lose, you'll lose all the money in the pot at that point, i.e. the winnings from round one and this bet too. If you win, however, the amount will be significantly higher, as the multiplier increases with each consecutive win.

This process can go on for as many as 20 rounds, but you'll need nerves of steel to proceed, and a willingness to lose it all, as much as a desire to win the top 1,027,604.48X multiplier prize.

info iconTip: To see how you're doing, look to the bottom of the screen where the field 'History' is marked. There you'll see how many times you've won so far, and on what bet (i.e. heads or tails) to help you keep track.

Play Flip for Free Online

We'd imagine you've played a coin toss game before, even with friends or for fun by yourself. So there's not much of a learning curve here. Beyond deciding whether to proceed for more consecutive wins, or cashout, which is the unique spin of the Flip version of the game.

As such, you can feel comfortable getting started right away for minimal stakes or whatever amount you want really. However, there's certainly no harm in playing a few rounds for free first. In fact, we recommend it, since it lets you experience the precise mechanics with zero risk.

In free play mode, you'll get the exact same experience, with the option to keep flipping, or to cash out, and even a game history displayed. Once you've got the hang of it, like we said, it's simple to move on over to real money play, by entering any number (in the currency of your choice) in the 'Bet Amount' field, and going from there.

Flip Stake Game Betting Limits

The betting limits for Flip are the same as with all Stake original games like Slide, Plinko, and Crash. This means to say that there are virtually no limits as to how much you can gamble.

You can play for a single cent (which is virtually free) or go up to $2,000,000 in theory. And there is a similar range for crypto bets too, as well as the amounts accommodated for various fiats accepted by Stake.

Flip Payout & Multipliers

While online slots have clearly defined paytables, arcade style games like Flip rarely do. Instead, what you'll be experiencing here is a steadily increasing stream of multipliers with each consecutive win.

#9501.76#19513,802.24
#101,003.52#201,027,604.48

So on your first win you get 1.96X your bet (nearly double your money), 3.92X on your next bet, and continuing upwards to the almost unbelievable 1,027,604.48X max multiplier if you manage to make 20 correct guesses in a row, before cashing out.

While the odds are such that this is a rare event, we assure you that it is possible - if you're up for the gamble that is.

Special Flip Features

The primary special feature of Flip is that it's an original Stake casino game that's only available there, so you're getting a unique online gambling experience.

The other feature you'll find is that of auto play, which can be accessed by clicking on the 'Auto' tab.

flip-stake-originals-crypto-game-autobet©Stake | Open the 'Auto' tab instead of the default 'Manual' tab to set your autoplay journey there.MoreLess

There you can decide on the number of 'Flips Per Round' which is how many flips you'll have run automatically before cashing out, the 'Number of Bets' which is more like the number of rounds, and things like actions you want taken on a loss or a win, such as increase your bet or stop the game.

Streamers Who Play the Original Flip Casino Game

As much as we love watching casino streamers, we're not sure why you'd prefer to take a viewing seat on this one, as it's super easy and accommodating of all budgets. But maybe you want to see the streamers go for the 20 wins in a row potential, a gamble that realistically most of us wouldn't be up for taking, especially not for the large sums these influencers are willing to wager.

KickIf this is the case, we totally get it! And while we can't say who'll be playing when, we can say, as a Stake original, Flip is definitely featured in streaming sessions on Kick and YouTube respectively.

WoodsBet, for example, even has a nice clip on "The Best" Flip Profit Strategies, and we'd imagine legends like ClassyBeef and Ice Poseidon will be fans featuring it too.

Flip Strategy and Tips

When it comes to coin flip games, the basic principle is that each toss is an independent event. That means, past results have absolutely no bearing on future outcomes. So even though the Stake Flip game has a 'History' field, it is in no way going to be a predictor of what's to come.

As such, there's simply no strategy you can employ to predict whether the next flip will land on either heads or tails. Each flip will continue to have a 50/50 probability, and any pattern you might think you see is 100% random.

trendThis means risk management is really the name of the game. That is, you'll need to decide how much you're willing to lose. Also perhaps consider using a consistent betting strategy (like betting a fixed percentage of your bankroll) to avoid ruin.

That being said, these are tips for a regular coin toss game. For Stake Flip itself, there is one other strategical element you'll need to contemplate. And while there's no way of gaming this either, you will need to consider your appetite for risk, as well as your goals, since in this version of the coin toss there's also the cashout option after each win.

If you don't cash out, the multiplier will be considerably higher for bigger wins if the next guess is also correct. However, it's an all or nothing game at each stage, so even if you got 5 right and busted on the sixth, you'd lose it all.

Is this a risk you're willing to take? We can't tell you that. To an extent, that will be a matter of how much you've bet and again, how much you're willing to lose. If it's just a few cents, we'd imagine you can live with that in exchange for the thrill. Then again, the more you bet, the higher the potential win, so this is the balance you're going to need to work out.

Play Flip on Stake Mobile Casino

Flip mobileShort and sweet, if you're looking to play Flip on your phone go for it. You can even play on your flip phone! How's that?!

But seriously, whatever device you're using - whether you're an iPhone or Android devotee - Flip like all Stake casino games, works perfectly there too, and with any browser for that matter.

No casino app is needed. No download required. And truthfully, for a simple UI game, we actually think mobile is the perfect format, perhaps even better than desktop, though some prefer the bigger screen.

Stake Casino's Flip Game FAQs

Who knew there could be so much to say about an original coin toss game, you may be thinking. But so be it; and we're not done yet! We've got a few more FAQs to answer, because we at Casino.Guide love meticulousness!

  1. Is Flip an online coin toss game?
  2. How is Flip different from a standard coin toss game?
  3. Where can I play Flip?
  4. Is Flip available at many online casinos?
  5. Can I use Bitcoin to bet on Flip?
  6. What about betting on Flip in dollars?

  8. Should I use auto play when gambling on Flip?
  9. Is 'Pick a Random Side' a good move in this game?
  10. How long should I wait to cash out from Flip?
  11. How many correct guesses do I need to win the top prize?
  12. Does Flip use the provably fair algorithm?
  13. Are the Flip odds good?

1.) Is Flip an online coin toss game?

Yes, that's exactly what Flip is. An online version of the classic coin toss game. While obviously it's not a physical coin that's being tossed in the air here, it works based on the same premise.

That is, before the virtual coin is flipped, you need to guess 'Heads' or 'Tails' using the game's interface, or select the option 'Pick Random Side' for the RNG to make that choice for you.

Orange is heads, while tails is blue. Get it right you win. Get it wrong you lose. That's it. Same simple decision and outcome as in the traditional variant of the game.

2.) How is Flip different from a standard coin toss game?

While the basics are 100% the same - you make a guess, the coin lands, and the results are paid up - there is a small difference in Flip than a classic coin toss game. And that of course is the sequence thing. That is, the fact that you can cash out after any win, or choose to continue betting, for a higher multiplier on each consecutive win.

3.) Where can I play Flip?

The Flip game that's the subject of this casino review is the Stake original version of the game. As such, the crypto game that we're talking about is available only at Stake casino, making it both a Stake original and Stake exclusive, if you're looking to categorize precisely.

4.) Is Flip available at many online casinos?

Like we said, Flip is a Stake casino exclusive. However, there are certainly other online versions of coin toss games. Evolution Gaming, for example, has a game called Crazy Coin Flip which is actually a super fun live casino game. Other developers like Evoplay have a Heads & Tails game, and we'd imagine there are plenty more.

5.) Can I use Bitcoin to bet on Flip?

Sure, you can use BTC to bet on Flip. In fact you can use BTC to bet on any Stake casino games. In addition, you can use ETH, USDT, SOL, and even TRUMP. That's the beauty of a crypto casino and these types of original crypto games.

6.) What about betting on Flip in dollars?

On the flip side, if you prefer, you can also of course bet in a fiat like CAD or JPY. The only limitation is the currencies accepted by the Stake casino wallet - which happens to be very expansive in its settings.

If you want to bank in crypto, but bet in a more familiar currency like euros or dollars, by the way, you can easily set your casino viewing to display crypto values in your chosen fiat. This way all bets and transactions will be seen in that fiat, but ultimately settled in the crypto currency you're actually banking with.

7.) Will I need a VPN to play Flip?

In all likelihood you will not need a VPN in order to play the Flip casino game. One known exception may be for players who are located in the US, though it's possible you may have an issue connecting in other geo-restricted areas as well.

Should this be the case, then you can simply move your IP address to a different location using a VPN. This is a workaround that's known to work well at Stake. Though again, from our experience, Stake has fewer location-based limitations than other online casinos that we've played at, so you should be good.

8.) Should I use auto play when gambling on Flip?

Honestly, most of us on the Casino.Guide team aren't really fans of the auto play function. True, it exists in many online casino games, so there must be plenty of players out there who do appreciate it. However, as true gambling enthusiasts, we like to have our finger on the pulse with each round, and keep an eye on the action as it unfolds, as much as re-evaluate each wager thereafter.

So while we wouldn't necessarily use auto play ourselves, we would recommend if you do, to make sure you do so wisely. Selecting 'Stop on Profit' is a good choice, while activating the 'Stop on Loss' option we'd say is a must.

9.) Is 'Pick a Random Side' a good move in this game?

When playing Flip, there are technically three options for choosing your bet; the obvious ones being 'Heads' or 'Tails', and a third being 'Pick Random Side'.

Practically speaking, it doesn't actually matter which you choose. Like a red or black bet in roulette, who knows really what it's going to be? One or the other in any event, and neither has better odds no matter what pattern you think you've managed to decipher from previous rounds.

As such, there's no reason to let the game pick for you, nor is there any reason not to let it pick for you. At the end of the day it's still going to be completely and totally random on which side the coin lands, after each and every flip.

10.) How long should I wait to cash out from Flip?

Ahh yes. This is the million-dollar question. Actually quite literally here, as this game has a massive max bet limit and an equally enormous max multiplier top prize - so it could easily reach winning sums in the millions!

The trick is, having the guts to go for the glory of a 20 in a row coin flip winning streak, and of course the bankroll to back that, should it not pan out.

While going for the glory can be fun, and super rewarding, however, don't feel ashamed if that's not your way. Feel free to cash out after each win if you want, as twice as much money is certainly a nice windfall too.

So ultimately, what we're trying to say is cash out when it feels right for you. Though we'd personally spice it up. That is, cash out quickly sometimes, and aim for a longer sequence now and then for the full experience it offers.

11.) How many correct guesses do I need to win the top prize?

Although it's not that hard to win playing Flip - especially if you go for a single round then cashout each time - the higher prizes are obviously more elusive.

So while the crypto game boasts a top prize of a 1,027,604.48X multiplier, it's not going to be an easy journey getting there. In fact, you will need 20 correct guesses in a row in order to achieve that. That essentially means 20 consecutive wins.

12.) Does Flip use the provably fair algorithm?

Yes, like all Stake casino original games, Flip too uses the provably fair algorithm. You can click on the link labelled 'Fairness' in the bottom right corner of the game screen to open it, and proceed from there.

As you'll see, there are two tabs, one with the 'Seeds' you'll copy and the other called 'Verify' where you'll paste and get to your results. Although not everyone is an expert in following these hash functions, it's not hard to figure out once you've familiarized yourself at bit.

If you're not up for following the blockchain algorithm, mind you, like with any fair casino game at a licensed operator, you can be assured the RNG here is doing its job of delivering random results as well.

13.) Are the Flip odds good?

Theoretically, with results based on one of two choices, your odds of getting it right are 50:50. But that, as you know, isn't quite how gambling games work, since the results aren't going to switch off between heads and tails each round. Rather it's a matter of odds over the long-term. Plus, the odds will shift slightly with each consecutive toss within the same sequence.

Still, as a whole, with all elements considered, Flip remains an excellent odds game with an overall RTP of 98%. That means the house edge is a mere 2%. But don't forget what that really means is not that you'll win 98% of the time, rather that the casino will pay back out to players $98 of every $100 bet.

Our Expert Opinion on the Stake Original Flip Casino Game

If you're looking for our two cents on the matter, as to whether or not we recommend the Stake original Flip casino game, then the answer is definitely yes.

thumb up iconTrue it doesn't have crazy colourful graphics like a video slot machine, or bonus features like the Carrot Gaming lines. But what it does have is straightforward rules that are easy to understand, making it accessible to everyone, instantly. Plus, you've got really good odds and no real decision to be made, since heads or tails is totally a matter of luck.

But most of all, perhaps, it's got huge winning potential with a 1,027,604.48X multiplier, which could make you a millionaire many times over. But even if not, it's still going to be fun, and even smaller wins are no less enjoyed, as we can attest, we've seen plenty of players reach the six-digit numbers on a consistent basis.
