If ever there was an online casino that has mastered the domain of original games, Stake casino is it.
Beyond a rich and enticing lobby packed with top games from the best development studios around, Stake's powerful development team, operating in house, is regularly bringing us new ways to gamble online, like the Diamonds game it created.
Simple and engaging, the goal of Diamonds is to form winning "hands" of matching gems. That's it. 2 of a kind up to 5 of a kind pay cash prizes. It's totally a matter of luck which gems you'll get, if any, but it doesn't really matter, since they're all equally valuable.
No skill is required, making it super fun and exciting as you bet, and the results are revealed along the bottom of the board- hopefully with a combo that wins to make it all the better.
Game highlights:
- Simple and fun game play
- Popular gem theme
- Poker-style paytable
- Easy for beginners, exciting for all
- High RTP of 98.29%
- Available exclusively at Stake
Tip: Stake has increasingly tightened its IP accessibility. That means you may require a VPN service to access Diamonds. Turn on a VPN to any country not mentioned as restricted in the Stake Terms of Service, eg. Cyprus or Romania. From our experience, it should work. ➜ More info
Stake Diamond Game Basics and Rules
Diamond by Stake is a game of pure chance. The goal is to get a gem combination of at least 2 of the same gem on a line, with "better" combos (like in poker) paying more.
In terms of appearances, the board is basically divided into two halves, with the left side being where you bet, and the right side being where you play.
So looking to the left of your screen, to begin, you will set the field for your 'Bet Amount' first. Make sure to pay attention to the currency there, and use the relevant one. Also, if you want, you can use the quick bet buttons for half, double, or the max amount if you want to speed the decision up.
Once you're ready, simply press the green 'Bet' bar and watch the gems fall into place in succession from left to right, along the bottom row on the main game board.
As they do, if they form a combination/winning hand, you will see the symbols filled in on the bar above, that also highlights your payout rate, in a multiplier of your bet amount. This goes from 0.00X (as in you lose) up to 0.10X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, and the top prize of 50X your bet, the rarest and hence most precious result of them all.
If you'd like, you can also play this game in auto mode, for as many bets as you please. You can also opt for the instant bet option (found under the game controls in the lower left corner of your screen), which drops all gemstones at the same time, rather than one by one, to speed things up. And if hotkeys are your thing, you can turn on this option for desktop play, to control the various activities from your keyboard.
Diamonds Game Demo – Play for Free Online
Since Stake allows for this, it's the best way to see for yourself how the mechanics work, without risking a thing. Either way, it's the perfect way to sample what you're in for, in the most authentic way.
Diamonds Betting Limits
- For example, for Canadian dollars, one of the few fiats accepted at Stake, the minimum bet is for $0.01 while the maximum bet is apparently $2 million (though we find it very hard to imagine anyone's ever taken advantage of that). Still, that's what the casino terms say, and we double-checked with support, so that's the official range if you're interested.
- For cryptos, on the other hand the minimum value per bet is anything over $0.00001 USD, while the maximum fluctuates being 100 BTC, 1,000 ETH, or 1,000,000 XRP to name a few. Or in other words, regardless of which digital currency you choose, that would be very low and very high limits respectively.
Diamonds Paytable
As we described a bit above in the mechanics of the game, the payouts on the table in Diamonds are sort of like those for a poker game. Basically, you want to form a stronger hand of matching symbols, and in turn are rewarded in multipliers of your bet amount as follows.
Your "hand" | Payout multiplier |
---|---|
No matching symbols | 0.00X |
Pair | 0.10X |
2 pairs | 2.00X |
3 of a kind | 3.00X |
3 of a kind + a pair (i.e. a full house) | 4.00X |
4 of a kind | 5.00X |
5 of a kind | 50.00X |
The above "hands" are the seven potential outcomes of any round. All but zero matches pay, so that's pretty good odds.
Diamond Bonus Rounds and Other Special Features
Although Diamonds has the simplicity and symbols of slots play, it is not a video slot machine. Rather, it's more like an arcade game we'd say. As such, it does not have any bonus rounds associated with slots; rather its main feature is its uniqueness, and the originality of the format.

Streamers Who Play the Original Diamonds Game
Since Stake originals are so popular with casino streamers, it should come as no surprise that you'll quite easily be able to pull up clips of top talent playing this exciting luck game.
In fact, it seems to be quite popular amongst streamers for obvious reasons: it's fun, easy, colourful, and allows for big bets and wins - all of which are perfect for watching as much as playing. Plus, Diamond is a Stake original, and since Stake is home to most streamers we know of, it's an obvious match on that front too.
As for when you can catch the big boys in real time narrating Kick.com or Twitch sessions, with Diamond as the star, we don't know to say for sure. But this is the type of game that's frequently played on gaming platforms - so if you're a regular viewer, it wouldn't be unexpected.

Stake Diamonds Strategy Tips and Tricks
Although wins here are calculated like classic poker, the game is otherwise in no way the same. You can't exchange cards (or in this case symbols), or build a better hand. It's a one-time shot of random gems that land in the row, each round. That means there's just no way you're going to game this game.
The only thing you can do to influence anything is to stay in control. And staying in control in a random luck game means paying attention to your budget and bankroll, as much perhaps, as to how long you've been playing the game. That is, set yourself limits as to how much you want to win or lose, be willing to walk away after reaching certain thresholds, and even set timeframes if you know you're the type to get carried away, and not notice how long you've been playing.

Stake Diamonds FAQs
At this point we'll refer you back to the Diamonds free play option, since we think that's the best way to answer any questions you may still have. But for those who want to read what our pros have to say, this last section is for you.
- Where can I play Diamonds?
- Is Diamonds a crypto game?
- Is the Stake Diamonds game provably fair?
- What's the point of the Stake Diamonds game?
- What's so special about the Diamonds game?
- What other Stake originals are similar to Diamonds?
- What's the top prize playing Diamonds?
- Can I get a Diamonds bonus?
- How can I improve my odds playing the Diamonds game?
1.) Where can I play Diamonds?
Diamonds, at least in the iteration we're talking about in this review, is a Stake casino original. That means it has been developed by Stake for play only at Stake; which also means it is not available anywhere else.
Sure other crypto operators like Shuffle and BC.Game have their own lines of original games, but neither one has a homegrown version of Diamonds, which makes it extra special to find it at Stake.
2.) Is Diamonds a crypto game?
Yes, Diamonds can 100% be categorised as a crypto game. Much like all Stake originals in fact.
In online gambling terms, what that means is that Diamonds allows you to bet in any of the crypto currencies that Stake accepts for deposits. These currently number just over 20 including major ones like Bitcoin and Ethereum, and recently we noticed OFFICIAL TRUMP added to the mix, following the President's inauguration.
Also we'll just remind you, that you can buy crypto to fund your Stake account from your casino wallet if you don't yet have any, or gamble in a traditional currency like Canadian dollars if you prefer.
Tip: The betting range for cryptos is very wide, so you should be able to find both a coin and a wager that works well for your budget.
3.) Is the Stake Diamonds game provably fair?
Part of being a crypto game also means that Stake Diamonds also features the provably fair algorithm - and of course an RNG built in, which is the gold-standard of online gambling and fair results.
This means if you'd like to check the results of any game round you can, yourself. Just click on the 'Fairness' link in the bottom right corner of the game screen, and proceed from there.
4.) What's the point of the Stake Diamonds game?
The point of the game is to have fun, and also hopefully win some money along the way.
The fun part is achieved by gambling responsibly and within your means (both in terms of time and money). The win part, while it can't be guaranteed, is for its part achieved by forming winning "hands" starting with a pair and peaking at 5 of a kind for the top prize.
5.) What's so special about the Diamonds game?
The standout feature of Diamonds is by far its originality factor. That is, we haven't found it anywhere other than Stake, though that could be a matter of time, as most crypto operators lean on this one for inspiration (we've noticed).
So even if someone else comes out with a version of the game, we'll then continue to say it's special in that it's quick, fun, engaging, totally random, and offers the potential for very big wins.
6.) What other Stake originals are similar to Diamonds?
Stake has created almost 20 original games to date. And to be honest, we love them all. That's because they're all easy to play, with clear goals, and offer the potential to bet very little or a whole lot, and win prizes of magnitude as such.
If you're looking for recommendations specifically inspired by our love of Diamonds play, we'd say Crash, Mines, Dice, or perhaps the Dragon Tower game will fill the niche.
7.) What's the top prize playing Diamonds?
The top prize is 50X your bet. Exactly how much this will be, as such, depends on how much you've wagered. But since Diamonds accommodates very high max bets, it can be a substantial sum.
Just note, however, that there are max profits on this game, so that amount may be capped at less than expected, though it's still super high. For example, for BTC the max profit is 20, for ETH it's 250, for XRP it's 150,000, and for CAD it's $200,000. Those are just a few examples, but you can decipher the range from there.
8.) Can I get a Diamonds bonus?
Although there is no Diamonds bonus per se that we've come across, you can use the bonuses you get as part of the Stake VIP Club to bet on it. That being said, it's important to remember that you'll need to have played at Stake and remained active to earn this bonus-receiving status.
If you're new, you can also use our promo code "casinoguide" when you go to make your first deposit at Stake, to receive an exclusive 100% up to $500 bonus, which can be played on this and other games. For more info click here.
9.) How can I improve my odds playing the Diamonds game?
The odds for winning when you play Diamonds are actually quite good. That's because this game has a 98.29% RTP which is considered very high, especially when you think of it in terms of house edge which conversely is a mere 1.71%.
These odds are built into the game, and what the RNG is programmed to deliver. As such, there is nothing that you can do in order to improve them.
As much as we'd like to give you a winning Diamonds strategy to increase your chances, this game is going to be about luck, and playing the long game. That is, knowing that it pays a 98.29% return to player, which doesn't mean that you'll win 98.29% of the time, rather that it pays out on average 98.29% of what's been bet on it, over the long term.
